French self catering holiday's in the Loire Valley with child friendy solar heated swimming pool, pool side terrace with shower, small fishing lake, summer house, boules court and loads of space to play lawn games in our 2.5acre garden. Close by are golf courses, walking & biking trails, bird watching, horseriding, church tours etc.
For some of the best scenery in France, in a traditional cottage that retains many of the ye olde worlde features, you could not find a better place than Les Chaumiers Campagnardes ( the country cottages).
We are set in a small hamlet of 9 houses, 1.5kms from the historic village of St Julien de Vouvantes. The 12c. church in St Julien is the second largest in Loire with only the cathedral in Nantes being larger ! In the village you will find a mini-mart, bakers, doctor/nurse, chemist, restraunt/bar, bar/tabac, post office and garage. We are within 90 mins from the wine producing area of Loire, Torraine, Anjou and Chinon and 60 mins from the Jade Coastline with the tres chic resort of La Boule, or, further afield, the Savage Coast.
Les Chaumieres Campagnardes is a longere dating back to the 16c. and is split into 3 gites. 2 sleeping up to 8 persons and 1 sleeping up to 6 persons. The gites have been sympathically restored retaining their traditional character but with all the mod cons of modern life.
 
In the garden you will find sun loungers, reclining chairs, sandpit, paddling pool, summer house, boules court, chilling chair under a 200year old oak tree, wooden playhouse with it's own table & chairs, set aside area to encourage butterflies and other 'beasties' into the garden, child's play equipment, table-tennis, badminton, hammock and pic-nic tables.
When you arrive you will be greeted with a cup of tea (or something stronger if required !) and we will give you the 'low down' on what is happening during your stay with us. You will then be shown around your gite and garden. In the gite you will find a small welcome pack. On the Sunday evening we hold a free drinks reception to enable you to meet the other guests.
If you require any shopping prior to your arrival please give us 7 days notice. Bear in mind that we may not be able to find your favourite cereal or tipple here in France but we will try and find a close alternative.
